Our Review
Rise of Rome brings a credible 4X experience to a mobile-friendly format. The growth loop — economy, research, expansion, defence — has real depth, and the satisfaction of watching a single city blossom into an empire is intact. It's the most strategically meaty game in our catalog by some distance.
That depth comes with the genre's usual costs: a slow start, a chunky download and a learning curve that will deter anyone after a casual fix. There's also the familiar soft nudge toward regular check-ins. But for players who want to plan and conquer, it's a rewarding way to do it on the go.
